Description: Two troopers serving with the 23rd Hussars jump down from their Sherman tank and join others in their regiment in heading towards an open air religious service held in a field near an embanked section of the Caen-Bayeux railway line near Putot-en- Bessin. The padre (Reverend Jeffreys-Taylor) is seen conducting the service, using the bonnet of his jeep as an altar. The congregation - approximately 60 men - is seen at prayer and singing hymns.
